TRAVEL TIPS

Do your research. Not only is reading about your destination fun and gets you excited for all the wonderful experiences that comes with visiting a new area, but it helps to ensure that you are aware, prepared, and able to enjoy your surroundings safely. Local customs may be different from what you are used to, which should always be respected and appreciated.

Make copies of important documents, passports, and I.D. Carry prints when exploring and leave the originals in the hotel safe or place you are staying. And/or scan and save online as backup.

Keep your family and friends updated. Share your itinerary with a few trusted people, and check in with them regularly. For safety and an opportunity to brag about how much fun you are having!

As hard as it may be, it is safer not to post on social media any pictures or details of your locations until after you have left the area. But when you do, please tag us so we can share your adventures!

Be careful using public wifi. Only use if absolutely necessary, and if you do, set up a virtual private network (VPN) to allow secure access.
